Northern Breed Dog Adoption

Arctic Spirit Rescue adopts northern breed dogs (Huskies, Akitas, Malamutes, and more) to adopters within the Greater Philadelphia region, which includes portions of the following states:

  • Pennsylvania
  • Delaware
  • New Jersey
  • Maryland

We do not have a kennel facility. All of our dogs are lovingly fostered in private homes in typical family environments for a minimum of two weeks before they are available for adoption. This enables us to get to know our guests which allows us to learn the type of home he/she will thrive in. Our dogs are examined by one of the local vets affiliated with our rescue and are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, checked for Heartworm and Lyme Disease, and receive a clean bill of health before they are made available for adoption. Any health or behavioral issues that we are aware of are then shared with potential adopters, so you know as much about them as possible. We want to ensure your new family member fits in well with your family and lifestyle so we take our time to ensure our beautiful guests get the very best “second” start we can give them!

Lainey

Lainey is a typical Husky and will do best with a family prepared for those young Husky antics. She loves people and makes friends wherever she goes. Lainey has a lovely Siberian voice and loves to sing so your neighbors will need to have an appreciation for her music.

Dasher

This dashing four year old Siberian Husky is looking for an active home that can keep up with his Siberian antics. Dash is mischievous so he’ll require a vigilant home willing to keep treasured items out of his reach.

Our Process

Our process is simple! The first step is submitting an adoption application. This enables us to get to know you and your lifestyle to better guide you in selecting the perfect dog. An adoption team member will contact you within 48 hours of receiving your application. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions about ASR, our dogs, or our policies. If you are interested in a specific dog, you’ll hear from Foster Mom or Dad. If everyone agrees that this might be the one, we’ll process your application. Your references will be contacted to verify the information. Depending on how quickly your references call us back, this usually only takes a few days. At that point, we will schedule a time for the dog to be brought to your home for a visit.
